Position Summary

• We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Sourcing Officer to join our team. This is a hybrid role offering a flexible work arrangement, combining remote work with on-site farm visits and meetings as required.
• This role requires an energetic individual with excellent communication, problem solving and negotiation skills with the ability to build strong relationships with farmers and other stakeholders.
• The successful candidate will focus on building and maintaining mutually beneficial relationships with open field farmers and greenhouse producers to ensure a steady supply of fresh vegetables for the company.
• The ideal candidate will have the requisite skills to seamlessly coordinate key activities including sourcing, aggregation and logistics.

Key Responsibilities

• Sourcing and Procurement: Source high-quality fresh vegetables from local farmers, ensuring compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
• Farmer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with farmers, negotiating prices, and ensuring a consistent supply of fresh vegetables.
• Quality Control: Conduct regular quality checks on sourced vegetables to ensure they meet company standards.
• Supply Chain Management: Collaborate with the logistics team to ensure timely and efficient delivery of sourced vegetables.
• Market Research: Conduct market research to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges in the fresh vegetable market.
• Reporting and Analytics: Provide regular reports and analytics on sourcing activities, including farmer performance, quality control, and supply chain efficiency.

Location:

• The role is based in Abeokuta, Ogun State, covering the company’s sourcing activities in Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Ondo, Ekiti and Kwara States.

Qualifications

• Education Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture related field, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Experience: At least 2 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably in the agricultural or food industry.
• Previous experience in fresh vegetable sourcing and aggregation will be an added advantage

Skills:

• Excellent communication and negotiation skills

• Ability to build and maintain relationships with farmers and other stakeholders
• Knowledge of quality control and assurance processes
• Familiarity with supply chain management software and tools

• A competitive flat salary depending on experience.
